How the finder ranks days
The Moon’s nakshatra is the first filter because muhurta is fundamentally nakshatra-driven. Only days whose nakshatra belongs to the event’s classical preferred set become candidates. We then score each candidate: a non-Rikta tithi, an auspicious yoga and a benefic weekday (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday) add to its rank. Amavasya (new moon) and Bhadra (the Vishti karana) are excluded. This applies the same ephemeris and classical lookup rules an almanac keeper would use across every day in your range, without AI.
The window on each day
Each recommended day includes a suggested time to act. This is usually Abhijit Muhurat, the brief auspicious period around midday. On Wednesdays, when Abhijit is not observed, we use a good Choghadiya window instead. Every result also shows Rahu Kaal so you can avoid it, and you can add any day to your calendar with one click (.ics).
FAQ
How does the Muhurat finder choose the days?
The finder reviews every day in your range against the classical electional rules. The Moon’s nakshatra must belong to the preferred set for your event. Qualifying days are then scored by tithi, yoga and weekday, with Rikta tithis penalised. Amavasya and Bhadra (Vishti karana) are excluded, and the strongest days appear first.
What is the recommended window on each day?
The suggested time is usually Abhijit Muhurat, the short auspicious period around midday. It is not observed on Wednesdays, when a favourable Choghadiya window is advised instead. Every result also shows the Rahu Kaal to avoid.
Why are there no results sometimes?
A suitable nakshatra may occur only about once in 27 days, so a short date range can contain no qualifying day. Widening the range usually reveals more candidates.
Can I find a marriage (Vivah) muhurat here?
No. A marriage muhurat needs both partners’ charts and guna milan, so a date-and-place search cannot calculate it. This finder covers housewarming, property, vehicle, naming, tonsure and general auspicious work.

Bhadra is excluded outright and Panchak is worth checking before you commit; the siddhi yogas are the pairings that lift a day rather than rule it out. Each page says whether it is in force right now.
