Vehicle Muhurat — Auspicious Dates to Buy a Car or Bike
A new vehicle is timed for the same reason a journey is: the tradition reads the first movement as setting the pattern for everything that follows. What matters is the moment you take delivery and drive it for the first time, not the day the paperwork was raised. Tell the finder where and when, and it will rank the days.
What the rules look for on a vehicle day
The Moon’s nakshatra is the first test, with movable and swift stars preferred for anything that travels. These include Ashwini, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Anuradha, Shravana, Dhanishta and Revati. The tithi, yoga and weekday then rank the qualifying days; Amavasya and Bhadra are excluded. Many families also consider Disha Shool, the direction tradition advises against travelling towards on a given weekday, for the first drive home.

- A clear, ordered shortlist with the astrologer’s reasoning
FAQ
Which day is best to buy a new car?
A day whose Moon is in one of the movable or swift nakshatras, on a non-Rikta tithi with a favourable yoga. The finder gates on exactly that set and ranks what remains.
Does the muhurat apply to the purchase or the delivery?
It applies to the delivery, specifically the first time you drive the vehicle. If the showroom paperwork happens earlier, time the handover and first drive.
What about Rahu Kaal when taking delivery?
Keep the first drive clear of it. Every day the finder returns shows that day’s Rahu Kaal alongside the recommended window.
Is Amavasya bad for buying a vehicle?
The finder excludes Amavasya (the new moon) outright for every category, along with Bhadra, so no result will ever fall on one.
