About
How Astroyana calculates and explains a chart.
Astroyana provides both Vedic and Western readings. Our Vedic work follows classical Jyotish, while the Western work uses modern psychological interpretation. Each reading states the system used to calculate the chart.
The chart is calculated before the interpretation is written. The writing layer cannot change the chart.
Ganaka calculates. Yana explains.
Chart calculation and written explanation are handled separately. This makes it easier to check which calculation supports a statement and to investigate a result that looks wrong.
Ganaka is Astroyana’s calculation engine. It uses Swiss Ephemeris positions, the Vedic settings you select and the birth details you provide. It returns degrees, houses, dignities and timing data. These calculations do not use AI, and identical inputs produce the same chart.
Yana explains Ganaka’s results in plain language. She cannot change a chart placement or add a result that Ganaka did not calculate. Meet Yana.
What we offer
- A free Vedic reading calculated from your birth details, including your chart, placements and current dasha.
- Premium dual-tradition reports that tie Vedic structure to Western inner shape.
- Prepaid Yana credits for personal questions. There is no subscription or automatic renewal. You buy a fixed number of answers, and unused credits do not expire.
How we work
We write and maintain the code used to produce each report. Vedic content draws on Parashara, Raman and Frawley. Western content draws on Jungian astrology, Greene and Sasportas. Each interpretation uses the chart calculated from the birth details provided rather than a generic sun-sign profile.
What we do not do
We do not use difficult placements to frighten someone or sell a remedy, and we do not suggest that a purchase can change fate. Astrology is a framework for reflection, not medical, legal or financial advice. If a calculation does not support precise timing, the answer should say so.
We do not sell personal data. Birth details are encrypted when stored and are not placed in links or analytics. We keep the visual design restrained so the chart remains the focus.
We publish the base rates
Our research team runs fixed-seed studies across tens of thousands of synthetic charts. The studies measure the prevalence of doshas and named yogas and test how birth-time changes affect a chart. We publish the datasets and methods, including results that show a supposedly rare condition is common. Read the research.
Behind the work
Astroyana is operated by SNAZZYWORKS, which also operates Rudrakshakavach. Both brands use Ganaka. The free Vedic report on astroyana.com and the chart built for rudrakshakavach.com customers use the same calculation code, while the brands remain separate.
