Brahma Muhurat — the dawn window
Brahma Muhurat is the last muhurta of the night. It ends close to sunrise and lasts roughly three-quarters of an hour. Tradition reserves it for inward practices such as meditation, recitation, reading and exercise rather than worldly beginnings. Its timing depends on sunrise, so it changes with place and season.
Abhijit Muhurat — the midday window
Abhijit is the eighth muhurta of the day. It is centred on local solar noon and lasts about three-quarters of an hour. It is considered an auspicious window for most undertakings and is often used when a tailored muhurat is not available. The classical exception is Wednesday, when Abhijit is not observed. The live panel below shows whether it is in force today.
