Vastu foundations

A two-lesson orientation: the eight directions and the five elements. Not a Vastu course.

Vastu Shastra is the classical Indian approach to space — how a home or plot sits with the sun, the directions and the five elements. Where astrology reads the sky, Vastu reads the ground beneath your feet.

This short track teaches the two ideas everything else rests on. First the eight directions and what each one traditionally governs. Then the five elements and how they map onto the corners of a space — which is why the kitchen, the prayer room and the bedroom each have a "right" place.

New terms are underlined — hover for a quick definition. And a reminder up front: Vastu is a traditional design philosophy, offered here for learning and reflection, not as a rule you must follow or a guarantee of any outcome.
