Varna
Varna weighs the spiritual-temperamental order of the two Moon signs; classically the groom's Varna should equal or exceed the bride's for the single point.
Vashya
Vashya measures mutual magnetism and the natural authority each partner holds over the other, read from the Moon-sign animal classes.
Tara
Tara (Dina) reads birth-star compatibility for health and longevity, counting the nakshatra distance each way and rewarding the auspicious Taras.
Yoni
Yoni assesses physical and instinctual compatibility through the animal symbol of each birth-star — same Yoni is ideal, enemy Yonis score nil.
Graha Maitri
Graha Maitri tests the friendship of the two Moon-sign lords — the meeting of minds and lasting affection between the partners.
Gana
Gana classifies temperament as Deva, Manushya, or Rakshasa; a cross-Gana pairing raises a dosha that classical Bhanga rules can neutralise.
Bhakoot
Bhakoot (Rashi) reads the relative Moon-sign positions for household prosperity and emotional rapport; the 2/12, 5/9 and 6/8 axes raise the Bhakoot dosha.
Nadi
Nadi carries the most weight — it guards constitutional and genetic compatibility (progeny and health). Same Nadi raises the gravest dosha unless a Bhanga cancellation applies.

गुणांचा अर्थ काय

Reconsider
A total below 18 of 36 falls in the lowest classical tier (Adhama). More than half the eight Kootas have gone unmet, and the tradition counsels a careful second look — which factors fell short, and whether any can be remedied — before the match is taken forward.
Workable
A total of 18 to 23 of 36 sits in the Madhyama (acceptable / average) tier. Enough of the eight Kootas align to give the match a sound classical footing, while one or two factors stay weak; the tradition treats this as a workable foundation that rewards attention to the lower-scoring areas.
Strong
A total of 24 to 31 of 36 spans the Madhyama-Uttama (very good) and Uttama (excellent) tiers. The great majority of the eight Kootas align, marking a classically strong and well-supported compatibility.
Rare
A total of 32 to 36 of 36 reaches Sarvashreshtha, the highest classical tier — the best possible Guna Milan. So complete an agreement across all eight Kootas is uncommon, and the tradition reads it as an especially auspicious foundation.

दोष, आणि त्यांचे निवारण (दोषभंग) कसे होते

Mangal
Mangal Dosha — the affliction of Mars to married life — is read for each partner and then matched. Classical Parashari rule holds that when both partners carry an effective dosha the two cancel each other and the match is unaffected; when only one carries it, the affliction stands. A partner's own dosha may also be neutralised within their chart — for instance by Mars holding its own or exalted sign, or receiving the aspect of Jupiter or Venus — in which case they are not counted as effectively Manglik.
Nadi
Nadi Dosha arises when both partners share the same Nadi (Adi, Madhya, or Antya); uncancelled it forfeits all eight Nadi points, the gravest single dosha. Classical Bhanga rules lift it in several cases: when both hold the same birth-star but fall in different padas (the Charana rule), when both share one Moon sign through different nakshatras, or when the two Moon-sign lords are the same planet.
Bhakoot
Bhakoot Dosha arises when the two Moon signs fall on the 2/12, 5/9 or 6/8 axis; uncancelled it forfeits all seven Bhakoot points. The classical Bhanga rules cancel it when the two Moon-sign lords are the same planet, or when those lords are mutual friends.
